WELCOME TO THE 5TH WORKSHOP ON LUNG HEALTH
Dear Colleagues & Friends,
It seems like yesterday that we dared to start this adventure and it gives us great emotion to publish on the cover of this Programme the “number 5”.
The concept of a forum dedicated each year to up to date and controversial topics discussion with the contribution of the main experts in the field has confirmed to be an effective tool to actively involve, discuss and educate.
Furthermore, the increasing number of initiatives dedicated to the young generation is creating the condition to “mix new topics with the new generation, generating new prospective” in the field, also for the more experienced participants.
Daring wisely has been one of the value of this dynamic forum and continuing this tradition and following the suggestions received from last edition attendees, we will dedicate the 5th International Workshop on Lung Health to Asthma and COPD. Personalised Medicine: From Myth to Real Life.
Programme will start with a lecture on the state of the art in personalised medicine applied to Lung Health, then it will span from personalized medicine and immunotherapy in Asthma to phenotyping in COPD management, from COPD year review to Asthma updates, from Bronchiectasis to stable COPD management. Following last year success, a session will be dedicated to the new markers, drugs and management tools in Allergy, Asthma, IPF and Lung Cancer. Imaging and diagnostics tools will also stage the most important novelties in real life practical cases debates embracing rare diseases, NTM, emphysema and pulmonary embolism.
The young generation initiatives will see the reconfirmation of the Rising Stars and Poster Awards while a new slot will be dedicated to SIP / IRS fellows. The Future Leaders Tutoring programme which was so much appreciated last year, will be furtherly developed offering the possibility to a selected group of European Interns to be involved adding an interactive opportunity so important in this everyday smaller World.
We invite you therefore, to contribute actively in the debate on Personalized Medicine joining the 5th International Workshop on Lung Health scheduled in Berlin from 18 to 20 January 2018.
